Being from Montana gives me endless outdoor opportunities and I would be lying if I said I didn’t take full advantage of that. The mountains are my home and they’ve helped shape the person I am today. With every free moment I have I try to get out and explore all the different mountain ranges I am surrounded by. My typical hobbies include hunting big game animals, hiking peaks over 9,000ft tall, trail riding my horses in search of new areas, swimming in alpine lakes, packing camps back into the mountains for overnight trips, snowmobiling the versatile backcountry landscapes and much much more. I am a girl of many hobbies to say the least and to tackle all of these adventures it is crucial to have a snack that will fuel my body properly. That is why I choose Apex Protein Snacks. What you put into fueling your body will have a direct effect on what your body will be able to accomplish. If you want to preform at your best, you have to set yourself up for success and that starts with good protein and quality nutrients. So what better snack than a snack that is fit for adventure?
Growing up on acreage near small town Roca Nebraska, I fell in love with the outdoors early on as a kid. My family were not hunters at the time, aside from my father doing some bird hunting during his childhood. I got intrigued by Whitetail deer when I was 11 years old after watching a buck chase a doe through the cut bean field in November, just south of our home. I vividly remember watching that buck go back and forth from the doe and another buck… asserting his dominance and stirring up dirt, what a sight! After that day I started trying to learn everything I could about whitetail deer which led me to watching VHS tapes and reading articles of Realtree monster bucks, Drury outdoors and the like. I picked up a bow that Christmas and started shooting and practicing as much as possible. The following season was my first time hunting whitetail. After sitting over 20 days and not seeing a single deer I watched in amazement as a large doe was working herself my way on a cold raining October evening. she slipped into my shooting lane at 28 yards, I drew back my bow with my fingers, put my pin where It needed to be and let it fly. A perfect double lung and I was absolutely hooked from that day forward! Since then I have grown a huge passion for sharing my experiences and love for the outdoors. I created my brand “Whitetail Fit” in early 2016 and have been able to reach hundreds of thousands of people through my videos and writing. I am now 27 years old and love doing this so much that I left my job in construction of 12 years to pursue my brand full time. What an amazing journey and blessing it has been… all thanks to the great outdoors.
I heard this quote from a mentor when I was thirteen years old and have tried to model my work ethic after it ever since. I was born in the small town of Conway, Arkansas where I grew up and currently live. I was introduced to a world of competition and adventure when I was very young – from the time I was born, I was brought along to watch my Dad shoot shotguns competitively in a discipline called Sporting Clays. Just eight years after that I had a gun in my hands competing myself, and had a lot of success in spite of being so young. I competed in Sporting Clays until I was fourteen years old before switching to a discipline called International Bunker Trap, so that I could pursue my dreams of one day being on an Olympic team. Making my first traveling team on Team USA at the age of fifteen, I knew this was the path I wanted to pursue. Since making that team, I’ve gone on to set multiple National and World records, won multiple World Cup Medals, was the alternate for the 2012 Olympic Games, earned two Pan American Medals (Silver & Bronze), a CAT Games Medal (Gold), and now have fulfilled a lifelong dream representing my Country in the 2020 Olympic Games hosted in Tokyo, Japan. I rely on products like Apex Protein Snacks to help give my body the fuel it needs to perform at an Olympic level during competitions and training. It may seem as though I have lived an adventurer’s life, but my true adventure is just getting started! – Kayle Browning
Spending time in the Outdoors with my Dad since I was literally 6 months old, Adventure has always been a major part of my life and who I am today. Turning my passion into a career, I now get to travel the Country year round - creating media content for brands, guiding outdoor trips, and chasing adventure for myself - even going solo on many of these trips. I've always enjoyed testing myself physically, mentally and emotionally while on these trips - and the idea of Food Fit for Adventure (APEX's slogan) was a natural fit for how I live my life already.
In order for you to understand someone’s why, you need to understand how their mind works and what their goals are. My goal has always been to be the hardest working and most disciplined individual in the room. I adopted a saying in high school sports when I began to notice I was nowhere near the most talented athlete on the field. It is “hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.” I’ve used this to this day and it will always be a part of me. DO NOT EVER be afraid to be passionate about whatever it is you love in this life, you only get to do it once. Whatever it is, GO GET IT!
Being born into an outdoor family, I was introduced to hunting, fishing, ranching and even show riding horses at an early age! That love has continued into today, where I have built up a social media following for outdoor media content, traveling across the United States each fall in search of adventure!
Spending almost every minute in the hills and hollers of Western Kentucky hunting, fishing or just spending time outside - I've always considered the outdoor lifestyle as my main identity, and my first love. Being able to bond with my Dad and spend time with him while outdoors will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I can't imagine a life without adventure!
